SIVAFROST history
The infrastructure and our full suite of services came about gradually, in several stages:
- In 2005, Sivafrost invested in a second, fully automatic, packing line and a new, more powerful and versatile, WMS program.
- In 2003, it also purchased an adjoining parcel of land and the building on it, which was then fitted out as a chilled room for 1500 pallets.
- In 2000, the freezing capacity was increased to 250 tonnes a week.
- Also in 1999, to control the flows of all goods effectively, a warehouse management system (WMS), complete with RFID scanning, was purchased and implemented.
- In 1999, to further expand the freezer capacity, a third 30 000 m3 cold store was built on; it provides 5 900 pallet spaces in mobile racks.
- In early 1996, Sivafrost set up a new division for the packing of frozen products in PE and laminated film via a fully automatic packing line.
- In 1995, a further 1 000 pallet spaces were added for the storage of chilled products. The freezing unit was completely redrawn and converted to run off the eco-friendlier NH3 refrigerant.
- In 1988, the productive capacity was increased to 5 600 pallet spaces with the addition of a second frozen food store.
- They started out with a cold storage capacity of 2 400 pallet spaces in the cold store. Integrated into that was a blast freezer, with a throughput of 50 tonnes a week.
- Sivafrost N.V. was founded in 1986 by Jos Siongers and Simone Van Asten; its object was to provide the food industry with a tailored suite of services.
